Loved it - until the top chipped

I only had this about six months (and had only used it a handful of times) when the glass chipped by the pouring spout. It had never been dropped, gone from cold to hot, etc. No usage out of the ordinary at all. It is most definitely NOT worth the price for something that can chip that easily (and of course you can't take a chance and use something like this for food with the possibility, however slim, of glass getting in someone's food).

I have had to replace this bowl three times since owning this mixer over the last 2 years. It cracks and chips very easily. I am not a commercial baker but I do bake a lot for my family and on holidays. It is very disappointing to keep replacing such an expensive bowl!

I have two kitchenaid mixers, love them!!! But the glass bowl for my 6500 has developed a Crack in the bottom! I only handwssh my glass bowl and was so surprised when I saw the Crack. To be honest I think it is a flaw in the design! A replacement bowl is sooo expensive!

I bought my wife (an avid baker that was a manager for BBB) this mixer for Christmas 2 years ago. She has loved it (as have I), went to make apple bread today and when she just started to mixer the butter and brown sugar... The glass bowl breaks! These replacement bowls are no where (not even BBB). For such a thick glass they seem to have a flaw in the construction based on all the other reviews

I broke mine and can't seem to find it in stock ANYWHERE! The company said it was just delayed but it's been over a year and half and still no bowl in stock. So my $600 mixer is put in storage and I am Still without a mixer!!!!! They should put 'CANNOT REPLACE BOWL' in the verbiage of the mixer because that is not right at all! I thought kitchen aid was an older company with great customer service but they have yet to help me except and email saying they are still out of what I need. Thanks.

This is a nice mixer but being that it's glass...it breaks easily. It doesn't have a wide base so it Tips over with just a tap. And it's 100 to replace. I wouldn't by this mixer again. Plus, it never reaches the bottom of the bowl. I've done the "adjustments" but it still won't reach.

Impossible to replace glass bowl

I bought this mixer a few years ago and love it, however i bumped the lip of the bowl at the spout and cracked it. Now I cannot find a replacement bowl anywhere. I have the stainless bowl, but the attachments do not go to the bottom on the bowl even when I adjust it. I need this mixer to be functional for my home cake business! Very dissapointed in Kitchenaid.

I've had my mixer over 2 years now, love it, except it seems that the same complaint we all share is that if you break/chip this glass bowl (which I prefer to metal because of its cleanliness, sterility, fear of chipping metal in stuff while using it). I recently chipped mine on the side. Which has made me reluctant to use it because of fear of glass. Please help! If I could buy a metal one so I could even use it that would be awesome, just did not want to buy one without knowing if it could fit, yah know?

Received this as a Christmas gift and love the mixer, works great. Issue is that if you crack or break your glass bowl you are unable to get a new one. I can not find a replacement in any store or online source. Also looks like Kitchen Aid doesn't sell it, but still sells the mixer with the glass bowl?! HOW in the world does that work? I am pretty disappointed in this and wish to have someone contact me about this so I can provide some feedback about this.

I love my kitchen aide mixer. I have one that is 33 years old still going strong. I received a pro mixer for a gift a few years ago. I went out of town this summer and my daughter was washing the glass bowl and it broke. So disappointed! I have been trying to replace the bowl for the last few months, on back order. I should have read the reviews I would have returned the mixer. This is ridiculous! Kitchen aide should have never sold this bowl if they don't have the replacement bowl!!! Very frustrating!

I've had my stand mixer for a few years and I'm now in search of my 3rd replacement glass bowl! The first time it broke I was making cookies and tapped a utensil on the side of it - not too hard- and I didn't expect it to crack and break like it did. Today I pulled my mixer out of the closet- I keep it on a utility roll cart- and it is severely broken and cracked. Who knows what happened to it! It was fine when I used it a few weeks ago. As others have mentioned, it is disappointing how easily it breaks for it to be so large and heavy. I'll likely purchase a stainless bowl to use until the glass is available again.

I've had my glass bowl for about a year. I use it all the time. I was washing it and it slipped barely hit my sink and now has a big crack down the side. This sucks because I loved this bowl so much more then my stainless. You would think for something that heavy it wouldn't break so easily.

I have had this mixer 3 years and have struggled with it since the first use. Extremely loud motor, though strong. Does not mix well and always leaves ingredients unmixed in the bottom that has to be hand-stirred in. The rubber seal around the bowl started flaking off the bowl right away and now the bowl has cracked. Disappointing product from a trusted brand.

My KitchenAid is my most favorite tool in my kitchen. I run a cake business out of our home and this is my fourth KitchenAid mixer, my dream mixer, a 6 QT silver beauty with a glass bowl! My husband bought if for me for Christmas this past December. I keep it on the counter, safe under the upper cabinets. I reached for the bowl to fill a wedding cake order this morning and what do I see? A 2 !/2 inch crack from the top rim down. Ugh! I had to grab all my ingredients and drive to my mom's house to use her mixer. I don't know that I would recommend this mixer to a friend only because my bowl cracked for whatever reason that I can't figure out and I am not able to replace it. What am I going to do now? I see that the glass mixing bowls are out of stock. I have depended on these mixers for over 30 years. I've never had a problem until now. Does anyone know of a brand that is equal in the quality of KitchenAid? I'm desperate!

I received this as a gift on Christmas 2017. It was an upgrade from my previous versions (which I still use). I use it to bake all the time, IT IS AMAZING!!!! My daughter was washing it and it slipped out of her hand and cracked the bowl. The curse has been trying to find a replacement bowl just like it. Can't get a pour shield

I bought a 6 qt mixer with the glass lift bowl from QVC after the kitchen aid rep said "they would be coming out with a pour shield very soon." Well 2+ years later and still no pour shield. It is very difficult to use and unless I remove the bowl every time the ingredients are almost impossible to get in the bowl without making a mess. I've tried to find a metal bowl with pour shield to buy instead and that's not available either. Item # KF26M2XNP5

My review is of the Glass Bowl, not the Mixer itself.I bought the mixer,which I love, but the bowl broke for unknown reasons. I went to use it one day and it had a large crack. I have tried to find a replacement bowl without any success. I have a beautiful mixer sitting on my counter top, that is basically useless. I have checked the Kitchenaid Website and the bowl has been unavailable. I would try a stainless bowl, but I have read they won't work with my model. If anyone knows of a bowl that will work with the 600pro lift model, I would love to know.

6-qt pro series bowl cracked!

I used my mixer about a dozen times over the course of a year. I opened the cupboard one fine day to use it and the bowl was cracked. It was clipped on the base properly since being used last and it sat in a spacious cupboard with nothing but the beater stored inside the bowl. I know it's not my fault since I cared for it appropriately and I put it away in perfect condition, and after seeing the reviews here I am very sure of a product defect. I am very disappointed that I chose the glass bowl and do not recommend it.

After reading through reviews I now know I am not alone. I had an almost identical situation as another reviewer. The side of my bowl cracked and broke off about three inches as well because the beater tapped it. I'm guessing this is common? Nonetheless, I've been on a desert pet search to find a replacement bowl and have been unsuccessful. I've even tried to use other replacement bowls just to see if I could get lucky but no. It seems like they aren't going to be restocking. At this point I'm truly disappointed because this was such a good mixer I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and now I can't even use it. Ugh.

I was recently making cakes for the holiday, tapped the beater on the side of the bowl and the glass broke! A piece about 3 inches big just broke off. It's impossible to find a replacement bowl, as it's out of stock here and no retailers have it. Now I'm stuck using a hand mixer for my orders until I can find a replacement bowl.
