Tough Installation

Like the final product, but installation had lots of surprises. Have a louver at the exit of your vent? Need to remove the louver in the hood. When does the styrofoam need to be removed? Not clear in the instructions, but if you don't remove it before you hang you end up chiseling it out and it turns into popcorn all over the kitchen. Can you hang it up alone? Yes, with many, many attempts and lots of swearing. And lots of finger prints to clean up afterwards.

I bought this hood before my kitchen remodel was started. I replaced the "fake exhaust hood" that I had for 12 years. All it did was suck in and blow back into the room through a wimpy metal mesh filter. This hood vents outside (yes through the roof as I demanded from my contractor) Actually clears the kitchen of odors. Haven't tried to clear smoke yet... Haven't burned anything on my new Stove.

Used for one week, 2 service calls, one electrician and parts that are back ordered indefinitely on order! The hood sleeve scratches due to design when it has to be worked on, the customer service response to my request for a new sleeve was they would not take care of that after 30 day window expires. The parts are backordered because there is an issue, the unit scratched because it had to be serviced. This is a new appliance- beware!

It just doesn't work

I bought the hood less than a year ago, and found that it doesn't remove any smells, grease, and hardly pulls any air at all. It looks great, but its loud and just doesn't do the job. Ultimately, a vent that doesn't vent it not worth the money, even if its pretty.

Hood fan is great however we added a make up air system, however there's no way to hook up to the make up air installed by our heating contractor. Had to purchase Kitchen Aids for another $400.00. No information from Kitchen Aid. Poor information, for the price of this unit it should have been included. If I recommend this to any one I will warn them of the make up air problem. Kitchen Aids competition has contacts to connect air make up systems to.

Worked for 2 days then stopped

This has one of the worse install guide along with the worse users manual. We had a kitchen remodel its this hood installed over the induction range. The hood worked for 2 days then died. No one has been able to diagnose the problem.
